Club Financials
We understand the difference between running on a “not for profit” model, and running not profitably.
For this reason we do everything we reasonably can to protect the Club’s financial position and transparency of how Club finances are handled.
In Plain English? We run the Club for the benefit of our members. We don’t take money out. We show you where the money goes. We don’t hide behind job titles or secret meetings. No sleight of hand, just a community organisation, managing its money sensibly, responsibly, and publicly.
- Nobody is paid a wage or salary from the club
- There is no legal mechanism to extract money/profit from the Club
- All Club expenditures are documented and approved multiple times
- We publish reports of how Club money is spent
- We registered as a Private Company Limited by Guarantee so that it is impossible to have “Shareholders” – this is a common setup for non-profit and community organisations
Documents & Public Releases
As a registered company, we provide returns to Companies House and HMRC, but these don’t give a very detailed picture. For this reason, we have a library of documents below which you can view.
Reports
For the purpose of transparency our accounting year is November – October, but to keep things easy for public reporting, we report on calendar years (January – December)
