The team head to our first national squad training session, with the Great Britain Martial Arts Team.
Back in November the Squad entered their first competition, the Peterborough Championship Series. Whilst we were there we were fortunate enough to meet Shihan Dave Treadwell of Furi Sutairu Shotokan Karate Academy – who also happens to be one of the coaches for the Great Britain Martial Arts Team (GBMAT).
We were invited to train alongside GBMAT at their squad training sessions around the country, and jumped at the first opportunity to do so, and we are so very glad we did.
It was an awesome session, and a great opportunity to train alongside some of the best martial artists in the country. A challenging session, we’re really proud of the students who made the trip to train, and we look forward to many more.
We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Master Chris Hemstock, Shihan Dave Treadwell, and Sensei Matt Ward for their hospitality and training.
